THUNDERHEAD feiern spektakuläres Comeback

Gemeinsam mit Kultrockband FARGO auf Tournee

Few German metal bands enjoy as legendary a reputation as Thunderhead. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Hanover-based band wasn't just famous for its powerful, raw heavy metal, but also for the excessive rock'n'roll lifestyle of their American frontman at the time, Ted Bullet. In 1996, the band split up following internal difficulties.

30 years later, Thunderhead are back! Their first three albums have recently been reissued, and starting spring 2026 the band will once again be on tour with an almost complete original line-up and a new singer, ready to live up to their legendary reputation as a captivating live act. As Motörhead legend Lemmy Kilmister once so aptly put it: "That's what the MC5 would have sounded like in the '80s." As the crowning highlight of the upcoming tour, German rock institution Fargo will join them. Since their comeback in 2016, Fargo have released two further studio albums, along with their current live album 'Live In '25' in September 2025. Thunderhead plus Fargo — a truly special package, under the motto 'Classic Metal meets Classic Rock'!

The 2026 Thunderhead line-up includes the three original members Henny Wolter (guitar), Ole Hempelmann (bass) and Alex Scotti (drums), joined by new German-Irish frontman Steven Brennan. To mark their comeback, the three cult albums 'Behind The 8-Ball' (1989), 'Busted At The Border' (1990) and 'Crime Pays' (1991) are now available on all major streaming platforms, fully remixed and remastered.

At the height of their success in the early nineties, Thunderhead toured Europe and Japan multiple times, including alongside Motörhead, Saxon and Uriah Heep. To this day, the band ranks among the best heavy metal acts Germany has ever produced. It was especially the raw energy and unfiltered directness of their albums from that era that thoroughly won over Lemmy Kilmister, who invited Thunderhead to join Motörhead's England tour in autumn 1989.

The band even achieved high chart positions in Germany and Japan. The current comeback is already causing a stir in metal circles, and fans are now eagerly waiting to cheer Thunderhead on stage once again.

In the early eighties, Fargo were among Germany's most important rock acts. With four studio albums released between 1979 and 1982, as well as tours with AC/DC, Mother's Finest and The Small Faces, the band earned genuine cult status. Fargo also made a strong impression on television (including 'Rock Pop' on ZDF). Thanks to their sensational stage show featuring bassist Peter Knorn's legendary front flip, Europe's biggest youth magazine BRAVO even dedicated two full pages to the band in January 1981. After a longer hiatus, during which the final line-up almost seamlessly transformed into the internationally successful hard rock band Victory, Fargo have been active again since 2016 and have toured Germany and Switzerland several times.

Rosy Vista are also on board:
For five years, from 1984 to 1989, Rosy Vista existed as Germany's first all-female hard rock band. During that time, the Hanover-based group led by guitarist Anca Graterol released a professionally produced EP and two singles. The band also played numerous notable concerts, including alongside legends such as Uriah Heep, Joe Cocker, Manfred Mann's Earth Band and Mötley Crüe.

Back then, the band members were missing just one thing for complete happiness: a proper album. That obvious gap was finally closed in 2019, as Rosy Vista reunited and presented their debut album Unbelievable — almost exactly 35 years after the band's formation.
