Following the international acclaim of their 2023 debut album “Soul Fiction,” COSMO KLEIN & THE CAMPERShave established themselves as one of Europe’s most exciting contemporary soul and funk collectives. Founded by singer, songwriter and multiinstrumentalist Cosmo Klein, the project brings together some of Germany’s finest musicians alongside internationally renowned artists. The debut featured outstanding performances by Cory Wong (Vulfpeck), Brian Frasier Moore (Justin Timberlake), Benny Greb, Claus Fischer, Thomas Stieger, Felix Lehrmann, Noah Führbringer, Hanno Busch, Thorsten Skringer, Peter Weniger, Jakob Manz and many more.
Deeply inspired by icons such as Prince, Marvin Gaye and James Brown, the band has developed a sound that effortlessly blends soul, funk, jazz and pop while remaining unmistakably its own. With “Jumping Bird,” COSMO KLEIN & THE CAMPERS present their most focused and uncompromising work to date—a groove-driven journey through modern funk, timeless soul and exceptional musicianship.
Recorded at Beattime Studios and noisy Rooms Berlin, the album captures the chemistry of a world-class live band while showcasing sophisticated songwriting and Cosmo Klein’s unmistakable voice. Featuring Cosmo Klein (vocals & drums), Stefan Fuhr (bass), Ruben Grosse (guitar), Florian Menzel (trumpet & flugelhorn), Marc Doffey (tenor saxophone) and Tini Thomson (baritone saxophone), the album bridges classic influences with a fresh contemporary sound.
