Water is Life
Charity Concert
For the eighth time, the charity concert WATER IS LIFE will take place on January 31, 2026, at Musiktheater Piano.
We are delighted to welcome The Chainsaw Hollies and friend for this year’s concert.
“The Chainsaw Hollies – with an amp in your ear and a heart on their sleeve.” That’s probably the quickest way to describe these guys. Formed in the mid-1990s, their first concerts took them just outside Dortmund. Every album they released was immediately praised by critics. Free from any pretentious attitude or forced credibility, they create timeless records and combine their raw energy with sensitivity and fun in live performances.
“Oasis” once wanted them as a support act; they played before “Die Ärzte” at the Lorelei and are known as the “favourite German band” of the Scottish group “Teenage Fanclub.”
They are relaxed and authentic. The Replacements, The Jam, Tom Petty, Power, Punk, Pop, Rock’n’Roll – their music can best be described as power pop.
They are performing for the second time by request of the well:fair foundation.
And after that: The Chainsaw Hollies + friend!
Why? Because they’re bringing and accompanying a good friend – a musician, author, and actor. Let yourself be surprised!
The program will start promptly at 8:00 p.m. with representatives of the foundation who will report on the work of the foundation.
The well:fair foundation, www.wellfair.ngo, formerly the Neven Subotic Foundation, is committed to promoting global justice in the world’s poorest regions. It supports the construction of drinking water wells and sanitation facilities in Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania.
696 million people lack access to basic drinking water services. They cannot obtain drinking water within 30 minutes (including travel and waiting time). One in four people worldwide – 1.4 billion – lacks access to basic sanitation.
Birgit Blanck, ambassador of the foundation, has already raised more than €130,000 through previous benefit concerts, related fundraising campaigns, and the help of all guests and supporters. That means nearly 6,000 people now have access to clean drinking water – a fundamental prerequisite for a healthy and self-determined life.
The proceeds from the 7th and now 8th benefit concert will fund a complete WASH project (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) at a school in Kenya.

All proceeds from the evening will go 100% to the well:fair foundation.
