Vanja Sky is Croatia’s answer to Sheryl Crow and Norah Jones.
She absorbed the influences of Rory Gallagher, Albert King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and successfully bridges the gap between the old legends and a younger audience. In doing so, she stands shoulder to shoulder with the stars of today’s classic retro rock scene. She impresses with her powerful original compositions, which are on a par with the hits of today’s leading artists in the genre. With a vintage sound reminiscent of the 1980s and echoes of Joan Jett, Vanja sings her songs with the same sharpness and dedication as Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders – and whenever required, with the necessary edge and grit.
