THE DOORS IN CONCERT
Authentic Tribute to The Doors
The Best of The Doors – Live & Authentic
The Doors in Concert are an authentic Doors tribute band.
The singer has the right look and the perfect voice, the keyboardist strongly resembles Ray Manzarek, the guitarist plays and sounds like Robby Krieger, and finally the drummer comes impressively close to John Densmore’s finest nuances.
Jim Morrison is considered a rock musician who articulated and exemplified the fantasies, visions, fears, and self-destructiveness of the late 1960s generation. Together with the Doors, he expanded the repertoire of rock music to include multi-layered conceptual pieces and forms of rock theater. The Doors' shows were energetic, explosive, exciting, and often eventful.
The Doors in Concert bring this era back to the stage – authentic, passionate, and perfect in both sound and appearance.
Authenticity is the hallmark of this Dutch tribute band. Only instruments that were also used by the original band are employed, in order to get as close as possible to the authentic sound. Naturally, the Vox Continental, Gibson G-101, and Gibson SG are all part of this setup.
The keyboardist of The Doors in Concert plays the bass lines with his left hand on a historically accurate silver-top Fender Rhodes Piano Bass, just as Ray Manzarek did using exactly this model. Vintage Fender amplifiers and microphones are, of course, also used, just as The Doors did at the time.
Every instrument and every piece of technical equipment is carefully and lovingly modeled after the original gear and assembled to preserve the glorious original sound down to the finest detail. In this way, The Doors in Concert recreate the live sound of the original band.
The live versions are often musically far more interesting and raw than the polished studio recordings. Inspired by the various live recordings of The Doors (which have since been remastered and released on CD), the band focuses especially on songs from these musical realms: “The Doors in Concert,” “Live at the Aquarius Theatre,” “Live in Pittsburgh,” “Live in New York,” “Live in Stockholm,” and “Live at the Matrix.” In addition to many hits such as Light My Fire, The End, Riders on the Storm, Roadhouse Blues, and Love Street, the audience can also look forward to songs like Alabama Song (Whisky Bar), Back Door Man, End of the Night, Gloria, L.A. Woman, Unknown Soldier, Hyacinth House, When the Music’s Over, and many more.
