Hamburg, 23.08.2024. THE CORONAS will release their new album “Thoughts & Observations” on September 27. The album tour will also bring THE CORONAS, one of Ireland's most successful bands, to Germany for five concerts.

In an ever-changing music industry, the longevity of THE CORONAS is impressive and deserves real recognition. Their alternative rock with pop appeal, often with big arrangements and some catchy anthems on the setlist, is often compared to Coldplay. Their early hits such as “San Diego Song”, “Heroes or Ghosts” and “Addicted to Progress” lend their concerts a magical touch of nostalgia. But that's not all: they have managed to constantly evolve and have successfully released new material in the last decade. Their last three albums have gone straight to number one in the Irish charts, while their fan base abroad has grown exponentially - sold-out tours in the USA, Canada and Australia underline this success.

“When we started the band, people were still buying CDs, we were a student band that became known through word of mouth,” explains frontman Danny O'Reilly. “We've been through the download phase, legal and illegal, the resurgence of vinyl, right up to the current evolution of the music industry, the era of streaming and TikTok dances. THE CORONAS have always ignored a lot of these trends and fashions and have always seen ourselves as a live band first and foremost. For us, it's always been simple: we pride ourselves on releasing good songs and improving our live performance with every show and album.”

This formula seems to have proven itself for THE CORONAS. The band is known for being one of Ireland's best live acts. They have been headlining major shows and festivals in their home country for almost 15 years, and their regular Christmas shows at the Olympia Theatre are legendary.

“We pride ourselves on our longevity,” says O'Reilly. “We still and always have something to say and are really excited to release the new album, our eighth, in the fall. We believe it's our strongest album yet.” The current single, released on August 16, is “Ghosting”. “Confirmation” (feat. Jamie Duffy) will be released on September 6th, before the album is released at the end of September. Thoughts & Observations is described as an “expressive, highly melodic album that takes an astute look at life, relationships and art.”
