Samantha Fish is not only regarded as one of the most remarkable guitarists of her generation; she also plays in a league of her own: she brings both overwhelming energy and extraordinary emotional depth to all her songs with flying colors and has enjoyed a triumphant career. She has steadily worked her way up to become a headlining act, including Grammy nominations, most recently for her latest album, “Paper Doll.” On her latest LP, “Paper Doll”—the first album Fish has recorded with her touring band, consisting of Ron Johnson (bass), Jamie Douglass (drums), and Mickey Finn (keys)—the artist presents nine powerhouse songs that hit you with tremendous force. The songs sound both extraordinarily raw and nuanced, and all reflect the unabashed defiance that runs through the entire album.

The fact that the artist always kept in mind, while recording the album, how the new songs could be integrated into her high-energy live show was brilliantly demonstrated by her and her band during their successful spring tour.
