Lazuli

Être et ne plus être Tour 2026

The five-piece French band Lazuli embodies prog rock with world music influences – mystical, lyrical, progressive, rocking, and enchanting.

Anyone who has ever experienced Lazuli's incredible musical mixture live is bound to fall for her. Elements of progressive rock, chanson, folk and world music meet the most incredible sounds and violent percussion thunderstorms. There are not so many categories that Lazuli's music could be pigeonholed into. And for those who do need comparisons for this incomparable music, the description "King Crimson meets Peter Gabriel" might provide an approximate yet inadequate explanation.

Lazuli also relies on an extraordinary set of instruments: marimba and vibraphone are already rare guests on rock stages, yet even these are not as special as the strange string instrument called the “Leode,” which Lazuli invented themselves – and of which only one single specimen exists in the world. This enriches the band’s sound with a completely new and previously unheard sonic universe.

The upcoming tour carries the title of their latest album Être et ne plus être (“To Be and Not to Be”), which will be released on January 30, 2026.The band describes the essence of the album once again in their own distinctive way:

“Step by step, case by case, one day in darkness, another in openness, head over heels, tossed about by the turns of a roller coaster, we tinkered with guitars, scratched pens across paper, built, deconstructed, and rebuilt again; we spent time without noticing it passing – hours of exploration, doubt, wandering, encounters with our monsters and chimeras, rising from gravity into celestial spaces, euphoria and melancholy, skill and clumsiness, seeking our paths or being lost on the edge, balancing on the brink, filled with certainties or surrendering our fate to chance… what chaos! All this truly looks like life itself, like so many seeds sown into the microgrooves… and twelve songs are born. Once again, here is the fruit of our collective womb – a little organized noise, punctuated by sighs and silence – and in the end, another record to put on…”

The concerts Lazuli have performed across Europe so far have left audiences astonished and utterly spellbound, while critics have showered them with praise. Former Marillion frontman Fish, after seeing the band at the Night of the Prog festival, was so enthusiastic that he spontaneously invited them to join him on tour as his support act.

Lazuli has long outgrown their status as an insider tip. They have earned an excellent reputation among a discerning and appreciative audience. Lazuli is a band for the curious – those willing to open their minds to this music will be rewarded a thousandfold for their openness.
