After the great success of the fall tour 2023, the great rock legend IAN PAICE is back on tour in Europe.
Ian Paice is the legendary drummer of Deep Purple and currently the only remaining founding member and leader of Deep Purple. He is coming back on tour with the band Purpendicular to bring his best-of-classic Deep Purple show to the stage. Ian Paice can be experienced live and up close in a club atmosphere. No video screen is needed, because Ian Paice will perform his unique style of playing just a few meters away from the audience for over two hours. You can hear Deep Purple classics such as “Child In Time”, “Black Night”, “Smoke On The Water”, “Woman From Tokyo” and “Hush”. The band has a first-class line-up including bassist Nick Fyffe from Jamiroquai, Italian piano star Alessandro Debiaggi and German guitar hero Herbert Bucher. The incomparable Robby Walsh is, of course, on vocals!
Deep Purple has been celebrated as one of the most innovative and successful rock bands of all time since the 1970s, and Paice's drumming has had a major influence on this. Their music is characterized by a balance between ingenious musicality and monumental simplicity. In addition to Deep Purple, Paice himself has also played with Whitesnake, Gary Moore, Velver Underground and solo projects by Jon Lord, Paul McCartney and Pete York or the Spencer Davis Group.
The band Purpendicular, which has even been described by Ian Paice and Joe Lynn Turner as the “best Deep Purple tribute band in the world”, has the ability to convey the unique magic of Deep Purple, which is responsible for the legendary rock band's success, at every live performance. Even Ritchie Blackmore says “Purpendicular is an excellent band” and Roger Glover said after his performance with Purpendicular in Basel 2012 “They sound fresh and it's a great pleasure to play with them”. That's why the first album “tHis is the tHing” featured Steve Morse, Don Airey, Roger Glover and Neil Murray as additional guests alongside Ian Paice. On the current album “Venus to Volcanus”, Ian Paice once again does the honors on drums. Former Rainbow keyboarder Tony Carey can also be heard as a guest. The album made it into the top 20 of the German metal rock charts.
